I want to hook up with her. I don’t really know her except she was a friends sister I barely knew years ago. I’m trying to flirt with her over Facebook but in a way that I can still back out if she’s not interested. What should I say next? She just added a Facebook app so my next message will go directly to her phone. Here’s our conversation so far (start at the bottom when reading):

Haha this is a late response but I don’t pay too much attention to my facebook, I got a bunch of texts haha pretty much it. I bet you had a bunch of secret admirers!
me:
lol, it’s not that bad. how was your v-day? I bet you got got a ton of stuff from secret admirers and such 
her:
[name of college] is alright haha I think my teacher is crazy
how are you liking it?
me:
hey, how’s [funny name for college]?

If she lives within driving distance, msg her up, and get together sometime. Go for a coffee or lunch and just hang out. Girls love it when you just want to hang and get to know each other. Just show you want to be friends and reconnect from your past. If you guys hit it off as really close friends, then try a relationship. The worst thing you can try and do is “flirt” and rush in. Don’t use technology as much as you can for relationships. Reason #1: Girls hate it. They want to get together and get to know you. Reason #2: Emotion gets mixed up over text and not real words and tones. You could say something that you know what you mean, and she could take it the wrong way. and in no way EVER ask a girl out over Facebook, MSN, Txt Msg, or phone. ALWAYS do it in person. Even if they say no, they will admire you for having the balls to do it in person. Definitely had that experience. Facebook is great to find people you havent seen or known forever, but it really sucks as a relationship tool. Every relationship I have ever seen start over IM, or FB msgs has ended within a month. I swear on a stack of bibles that is true. Do yourself a favor and get to know her in person. If she does live far away, and you still want to get to know her, the phone, voice to voice is the best second way, and once in a while find a way to go for a visit, then if it works out, maybe move near her, and then the future is the future.
